Welcome to Starbase Mojave!
Near the blazing heart of the galaxy, sits the newly completed Starbase Mojave, a brand new Copernicus-class outpost sitting about as far from home as a starbase can get. Sitting at the doorsteps of the Gamma and Delta Quadrants, it’s the closest thing Starfleet has to a frontier town, looking out over two unknown territories.
On these far flung fringes of known space, space itself is an obstacle. Powerful gravitational anomalies fueled by the nearby core, strange impenetrable nebulas, and planets dotted with the ruins of civilizations long turned to dust.
Mojave serves as a mission hub for explorers, an consolate for diplomats, and a safe harbor for traders on this wild edge of space.
Mojave isn't situated on this distant perch by chance, though. It's location is strategic. Assigned to Mojave is the USS Achilles, a refit Protostar-class vessel built for speed and distance. Equipped with one of the only proto-warp drives in the fleet, Achilles extends Mojave's reach far beyond that of a simple outpost, giving it the ability to reach into the four quadrants of the galaxy. With such a wide reach, Mojave can serve as a both an exploratory vanguard and a rapid response force, responding to emergencies and charting new worlds outside the reach of any other post.

Elsen hadn’t set out with a destination in mind, but the station had a way of nudging people where they needed to be. The observation lounge sat along one of Mojave’s outer curves, public, half-lit, and threaded with the low, constant thrum of systems working just beyond the walls. Not loud enough to intrude, just present.

Cassandra gave a nod to the barista as she exited the cafe. Her own predilection for beverages of the caffeinated variety had already become fairly known aboard the station. She would decide later if that was a good or a bad thing. In the meantime, she’d enjoy the fact that the barista had a warm jamoji-spiced latte waiting for her on the counter at 0900.

The night seemed to have gone by rather quickly as Yesrin woke, stretched, threw back the covers then sat on the edge of the bed for a few minutes attempting to force the rest of the sleepiness from her body. Rising she made her way into the bathroom to take care of her personal needs then dressed in a crisp clean uniform for the day. Dorian had just arrived onto the station when the Quartermaster gave him his room assignment, alongside telling him that the new CO had wanted to see him.
"The Captain wants to meet little ol' me?" Dorian said with a small chuckle under his breath. After getting everything squared away with the Quartermaster and getting them to put his stuff into his new quarters for him, Dorian decided to hop onto the nearest turbolift and head to Ops.

The meeting with Captain Hawk was very informative giving Yesrin a lot of data to digest; something to think about while getting her quarters settled and making it her new home.
As she made her way along the corridors, looking for her new quarters, she was thinking “The Captain seems to be very pleasant, genuine and not all wound like a tight spring but yet still very much a leader which is quite refreshing.”
Minutes later Yesrin found her new home. Keying in her security clearance the door swooshed open quietly as she walked inside hearing them close behind her.…
