| Personal History | 2367 - 2374: Yesrin Lyn Rey was born in Salena on the planet Betazed, a small town outside of a major metropolis making her the youngest of three children; two of which were her older brothers. Her father, Rinard, owned and operated Rey Freight, Inc. while her mother, Yesinda, owned a small studio where she trained Betazoid women on how to block out other people’s feelings and emotions; something that she trained Yesrin in to aid her in her life. 2374 - 2378 Yesrin acquired the usual secondary education and being female did quite well in her studies. At the tender age of ten she informed her father she wanted to follow in his footsteps and fly. Knowing how tough his sort of work was, he wanted her to be able to protect herself from opportunist men. To that end she was enrolled in a Martial Arts Studio where she was taught how to defend herself; her Klingon instructor was a personal friend of her fathers. After a few months of initial bumps and bruises she took to the Arts like a duck to water. 2378 - 2383 Her next four years of Martial Arts instruction consisted of more technique and weapons training where she became proficient in the use of various edged weapons including her favorite; the Bat’Leth which she excelled in. Upon her graduation her Instructor gave Yesrin her own perfectly balanced weapon which she trains with to this day. By the time she was thirteen years old Yesrin would be with her father, when not in school or training, learning to become a freighter pilot. This seemed to be a natural progression for her and by the age of sixteen she was an accredited freighter pilot taking most of the short assignments when not otherwise engaged. Yesrin’s primary education went as expected, given her previous secondary education, and she graduated with honors. By this time she was an only child with her two older brothers having already entered into the service of Star Fleet. 2383-2387: Academy Days After doing quite well on the entrance exam, along with her school grades, Yesrin was accepted into the Academy majoring in flight control and minoring in small craft. During the next four years she leaned a lot not only about Star Fleet but also herself as a budding young Officer. The time seemed to fly by until graduation hopefully preparing her for whatever lie ahead. 2387 - 2390: First Assignment Upon graduating from the Academy she was assigned to the USS Hermes, Nova Class, as a Flight Control Officer with the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade. After two years of working the beta shift Yesrin’s assignment was about to change. The Chief Helm Officer was involved in some nefarious activities which earned him a demotion and finally expulsion from Star Fleet. The Assistant Chief moved up into the Chief’s position with Yesrin moving into the Assistant’s spot. 2390 - 2396: Second Assignment After being quite successful aboard the Hermes, Yesrin was transferred to the USS Endeavor, Sovereign Class, same rank and position. Working very had for another three years she was promoted to a full Lieutenant with all the rights and privileges therein. This rank she held for another three years continuing on as she had previously both on duty and off. 2396 - 2402: Third Assignment Now another opportunity presented itself. Chief Flight Control Officer’s position aboard the USS Pall, Akira Class. Even tough this was a smaller ship it would be a good move into the Chief’s position. With her C.O.’s blessing and recommendation Yesrin was well on her way. Once aboard something happened that Yesrin never anticipated….she sensed her new Captain treating people differently by gender; or perhaps it was her Betazoid heritage kicking in. Even though nothing was ever mentioned to that effect, the idea would plague her for the next six years forcing her dot all her I’s and cross all her T’s. Even though the ides wasn’t a pleasant one, it did force her to become the best Flight Chief she could possibly be. 2402 - Present Just when she was at her wits end, another opportunity came her way; the Chief Flight/Helm Officer’s position aboard the Star Base Mojave. After serving on star ships for so many years perhaps a Star Base would be a nice change and working under a new C.O. would be welcomed. Yesrin made out the application and sent it to Star Fleet; now she would wait, fingers crossed, she’d get the position. |
