Mission:
Episode 1: A New Sheriff in Town
Location: Deck 8 Quarters, Mojave Station
Timeline: Current
The meeting with Captain Hawk was very informative giving Yesrin a lot of data to digest; something to think about while getting her quarters settled and making it her new home.
As she made her way along the corridors, looking for her new quarters, she was thinking “The Captain seems to be very pleasant, genuine and not all wound like a tight spring but yet still very much a leader which is quite refreshing.”
Minutes later Yesrin found her new home. Keying in her security clearance the door swooshed open quietly as she walked inside hearing them close behind her. Looking around she was not at all prepared for what she saw.
Looking straight ahead from the entrance, against the far wall, was a wrap around couch with a good sized round table in front sitting below a large viewport looking outside at the stars. At the end was a replicator for food, drink, and anything else she would need replicated. To the right of that was a large desk against the adjacent wall with a cabinet on the left for storage and three drawers on the right side with a comfortable looking chair in the middle. Also over the desktop double computer screens resided to access whatever she needed aboard the base. Lighted shelfs were over the desk for personal items. Lastly, a short distance from the entrance, were two chairs with a short round table in front of them.
Behind the desk area was the entrance to the bedroom with a nice sized bed, a night table on one side, a large dresser and closet. To the right of the bedroom was the bathroom area with a nice sized sonic shower with all the amenities one would expect. The entire quarters were painted in a peaceful beige color with tan and blue carpeting making the quarters feel warm and quite cozy.
Seeing her two large duffels by the desk already, as promised by the Captain, Yesrin grabbed the first one and went into the bedroom/ bathroom area. Unpacking the items her clothes went either in the closet and/or dresser with her toiletries going into the bathroom.
Walking back into the living area Yesrin unpacked her second duffel. Her beloved Bat’leth found a home on the wall going into the bedroom being a center point in the quarters for easy access no matter where she was in the area. A few books, mostly about Helm, navigation and piloting and what few memorabilia items she owned ,were placed on the shelves over the desk.
When finished Yesrin grabbed a cola from the replicator and sat on the couch looking around. The place looked a little sparse but she wasn’t one to collect stuff since she never knew when Star Fleet would move her to another location; although if she saw a few things on the Promenade in stores she might just add a few more items to her scant collection.
After resting for a little while she wanted to shower, change her clothes into something comfortable and just relax the rest of the day; also something to eat would probably be a good idea since breakfast was a long time ago.
When finished taking care of her personal needs, Yesrin dressed in her usual lounging attire of sweatpants, sweatshirt, and a pair of fuzzy socks; now she was comfortable.
Making her way back into the living area she approached the replicator. Kneeling on the end of the couch she looked over a wide variety of choices for supper “Computer one bowl of beef stew….lightly seasoned…..two slices of buttered crusty bread….one sixteen ounce glass of cola” was her order. Minutes later she grabbed her supper and sat in one of the chairs placing her meal, cutlery, and cola on the small round table in front of them.
After enjoying her meal Yesrin ran everything through the reclaimer then cleaned off the table; she was adamant about keeping her living space neat and tidy at all times; well mostly anyway.
Moving to the couch she sat and put her feet up getting very comfortable “Computer dim all interior lights fifty percent and play Earth’s 20th century smooth jazz….low volume” came her request as her entire quarters became very subdued and calming. Looking around her new home “I can see myself being very comfortable here and hopefully for a long time to come."
A few hours went by as Yesrin felt herself getting very sleepy. Rising off the couch she went into the bedroom, changed into her bed clothes, pulled back the covers, and hopped into bed “Computer lock the entrance door and dim the lights another thirty percent.” Minutes later she rolled over knowing tomorrow would be a busy day trying to get a handle on her duties and exploring the various areas of her new domain; then she drifted off to sleep hopping for many more nights to follow in the future.
